NGWA Seeking Consensus Group for New ANSI Pumping Standard

Groundwater Industry Stakeholders Encouraged to Apply

May 17, 2015
The National Ground Water Association (NGWA) is working to organize a group of industry professionals around the proposal of a groundwater pumping systems standard. The standard will provide guidance on performance requirements regarding water well pumps.

Suitable applicants include water well contractors, regulators, private water well owners, groundwater scientists and engineers, manufacturers and suppliers of groundwater equipment.

The proposed American national Standards Institute (ANSI) standard will cover:

  • Pump system design
  • Wellhead considerations
  • Pump sizing and materials
  • Tanks, metering, valves and piping
  • Electrical concerns
  • Operational concerns
  • Other relevant topics discussed by consensus group

A free webinar overviewing the standards process and how to get involved will take place July 15.

NGWA is a nonprofit that supports responsible development, management and use of water resources. It’s comprised of groundwater professionals ranging from contractors to equipment manufacturers to scientists and engineers. To find out more about the standard, go to www.ngwa.org.
