Robertson Geo, a global provider of borehole geophysical and petrophysical logging technologies, is set to relocate its UK headquarters to a larger facility in Conwy. The move comes as the company continues to expand its operations across multiple industries, including offshore wind, mining, geotechnical engineering, and environmental services.
The company will consolidate its existing sites in Deganwy and Llandudno into a 20,500-square-foot building at Tre Morfa Enterprise Park. The new facility will include expanded manufacturing areas, offices, meeting rooms, a training hub, and a world-class calibration center. In addition, the company plans to lease extra space to accommodate its growing operational team.
Addressing Growth and Future Needs
Managing Director Simon Garantini acknowledged that while leaving the company’s long-standing premises after more than 45 years is significant, the transition is necessary for future growth.
“We have outgrown our current facilities and would have moved earlier if not for the pandemic, but this is the right time, and we aim to be in by the summer,” he said.
The relocation will bring all UK operations under one roof, which Garantini says will improve efficiency and collaboration. He also noted that the move is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the company’s position in technology development, calibration, and compliance.
“This new space allows us to plan for future growth, with the potential to double our headcount and continue increasing sales, which have been growing by 15-20% annually,” he added.
Robertson Geo also expects to expand its Marine Geotechnics division, which focuses on offshore wind, and plans to hire more manufacturing and field operations staff in response to increasing global demand.
A New Hub for Training and Innovation
Beyond its operational benefits, the new headquarters will also serve as a center for industry training. The company is launching the RG Academy, which will offer specialized courses designed to support workforce development in geophysical and petrophysical logging.
“This facility will help us develop the next generation of workers in these industries while also supporting our growing international customer base,” Garantini said.
With operations in over 160 countries and additional locations in the U.S. and Hong Kong, Robertson Geo continues to expand its global presence. The new headquarters in Conwy represents both a logistical upgrade and a long-term investment in the company’s future.
