Fort Wayne, IN – August 2024 – Franklin Electric Co., Inc. recently organized its annual “Future Franklineers Day” on July 22, which saw participation from over 60 elementary, middle, and high school students from the local community. This event provided an opportunity for students, particularly those related to Franklin Electric employees, to explore the company's corporate headquarters, learn about the water systems industry, and gain exposure to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) careers.
During the event, students engaged in interactive tours of Franklin Electric’s research, development, and testing facilities. They were introduced to the basics of motor operation and were given kits to build their own mini motors. Engineers, designers, and executives from the company were available to answer questions and share insights into their respective fields. Additionally, the event fostered networking opportunities, allowing Franklin Electric families to connect.
“Showing children a variety of STEM career possibilities is essential to the future of the industries we serve,” said Amanda Hecht, Director of Human Resources—Talent. “Future Franklineers Day is a chance for young learners to see firsthand how Franklin Electric innovation is a part of their everyday lives—from the water they drink to the cars they ride in.”
Franklin Electric supports various local programs and education-based initiatives, such as those through United Way and Junior Achievement, aimed at nurturing future community leaders.
