Directional drilling provider International Directional Services (IDS), a subsidiary of civil construction company Granite, has announced a partnership to bring mining tech company Veracio suite of tooling to IDS clients.

“Our collaboration further strengthens Veracio’s position in the U.S. market and reinforces our commitment to advancing the mining industry by offering cutting-edge solutions,” says JT Clark, Veracio CEO. “Together with IDS, we are committed to redefining industry standards, empowering precision and integrity with every survey, and delivering unparalleled solutions for the mining industry.”

In a release, the companies say that while IDS and Veracio have an existing relationship, this partnership makes sense because both companies share a vision for better drilling workflow through data. The companies expect the partnership to help IDS and Granite clients reduce unnecessary drilling costs, mitigate operational errors, minimize waste and foster sustainable mining practices.

"We are excited to embark on this strategic partnership with Veracio,” says Jason Smith, IDS general manager. “By combining our data collection expertise with Veracio’s cutting-edge instrument technology, we aim to redefine how drill hole data is utilized in our industry. This collaboration represents a significant step forward for IDS and our commitment to delivering excellence to our clients.”

Veracio, a subsidiary of Boart Longyear, offers what it calls the “most compact and integrated continuous north-seeking gyro tool in drilling.” IDS will serve as a distributor for the TruGyro, in addition to Veracio’s TruShot magnetic survey tool for 3D hole path data and core-orientation tooling. IDS will offer new Veracio products as they come to market.

Veracio offers a range of products designed to automate and improve mineral exploration, resource definition and production. The company emphasizes a high-tech approach to efficiency, profitability and sustainability for mining clients. For more information, visit www.veracio.com.
