“The roles and responsibility go from operating safely and understanding the tooling and terminology, to understanding their use of a stop work authority, to managing the materials that are going to go into the hole,” Yordy says. “Assistant drillers, your biggest role is to support everyone and question everything so that one day you can step up on that platform and know.”
