More than 1,100 exhibitors are expected for this year’s Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) convention in Toronto, held Mar. 4-8 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC).

“The PDAC 2023 Convention has a full roster of speakers and programs that are expected to provide exceptional insight into our industry’s future,” says PDAC President Alex Christopher.

In a release, organizers call PDAC the “big game” of the mineral exploration and mining world. This year, the event spreads over 600,000 square feet of the convention center, making it one of the largest in the group’s 91-year history. Event organizers expect attendees from 120 countries.

A planning committee of volunteer professionals from across the exploration and mining industry has planned a broad roster of programming, including topics like navigating capital markets and sustainability. The event also features short courses, a “master class” series and keynote.

“While the shift in focus toward critical minerals by governments has been swift, it is an opportunity PDAC and the industry has recognized for many years, and we are pleased to see that Canada is being positioned to benefit for the long term,” Christopher says.

This year’s speakers include industry experts and facilitators offering their knowledge, strategies, new concepts and case studies. Organizers say the event features more panel discussions than ever before, with extended Q&A opportunities, real-time polling, quizzes and more.

Attendees can find networking opportunities at the events Awards Gala, which honors the industry’s most outstanding contributors, and an Opening Ceremonies. People can also find more casual networking at a new member event, or even a event featuring dueling pianos.
