“We in this industry just have a willingness to play injury roulette. It’s our culture. We accept that … injuries are going to occur.”

He talks about safety triangle, the distraction of coming weekends and long-awaited get-togethers with friends, and tips for keeping your head in the drilling game. Having an injury is unfortunate, but ultimately prevention involves preparedness and paying attention.

“So, what can we do to prevent it? We can have good processes. We can make good choices. We can have the right tools. We can talk about the hazards at hand before they happen.”
