Every project demands good leadership and drilling is no different. But what qualities do you look for when you want a good lead driller? Host and drill trainer Brock Yordy this week takes a question from fellow The Driller writer Capt. Jake Fletcher. It’s episode 99 of Ask Brock.
“When you find that lead driller that’s hungry, humble and smart, and can collaborate with everybody and isn’t worried about what knowledge they pass on to the rest of the team to be successful, then then we can achieve anything,” Yordy says.
People measure productivity in feet drilled and product installed or recovered. Yordy looks for repeatable results.
“Consistency is way more important to me than being able to be the person that can put the most pipe in the hole and extract the pipe the fastest.”
