It’s a common question: What would you tell your younger self, who’s just starting out in the industry. This week on episode 98 of Ask Brock, host and drill trainer Brock Yordy reaches back in time to offer tips for his early drilling career, and for anyone just starting out.

“The first thing I think about is attention to detail. Write everything down,” he says.

Beyond that, he adds, “I should have checked my ego. … If I could have had somebody slap that big ego off my head and allowed me to develop, I’d have been farther along than I am now at 40.”

Those two tips, he says, make new recruits open to the learning, collaboration and relationships that help people flourish in this, or any, industry. Click the video to hear more.
