If you just want to own a drilling company, should you go to college? Ask Brock, episode 96, tackles that question. Host and drill trainer Brock Yordy talks about the advantages he sees in getting a degree if you can swing it.

“I’m a better driller because of college,” he says.

He emphasizes that while it’s not necessary to go to college to work in the drilling industry — even as a drilling company owner — college can give you a huge advantage in understanding of the science of drilling or the skills of doing business, or both.

But Yordy adds that college has two other advantages: comradery and growth from a hometown to a global perspective.

“If college is right for you, go kill it, man.”
