Goulds Water Technology, a Xylem brand, in a release says it is “one of the first in the industry to offer NSF-61 certified jet pumps for a wide range of residential, agricultural and boosting applications.”
The certification means all components in approved Goulds Water Technology jet pumps are safe for use in drinking water systems.
“The National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) is the gold standard in assuring product safety in regards to drinking water and there’s nothing more important to our industry than providing safe drinking water,” said Jill Boudreau, residential product line manager for the Americas. “We understand the criticality of this certification in today’s world and we’re proud to provide this on the majority of our jet pumps.”
Goulds Water Technology offers a variety of jet pumps, including shallow well, convertible models, deep well and self-priming. These pumps can be used for water delivery and boosting for homes, cottages, mobile homes and farms. Key features include: self-priming for quick and easy start-up; a back pullout design and two-compartment motor for safe, fast serviceability; and electro-coat paint process on all cast iron parts for rust resistance and longer product life.
NSF-61 is a certification for products that come into contact with drinking water. This standard establishes minimum health effects requirements for the chemical contaminants and impurities that are indirectly imparted to drinking water from products, components and materials used in drinking water systems. These standards are based on the EPA and Health Canada requirement.
