The Covid-19 pandemic definitely qualities as abnormal operating conditions (AOCs). Of course, the water well industry has always had to deal with sanitation and decon. But, now we have to take extra health and safety steps to ensure we don’t bring the Coronavirus home to our families. In episode 51 of Ask Brock, host and National Driller contributor Brock Yordy goes into detail about the virus’ implications for drillers, including a cautionary tale about what it could mean to get injured on the job during a pandemic. His advice? Tell crews to treat each drilling job as if it’s a remote area and with no support. It keeps people’s heads on the job and the preparation they put in could save a life.
