South Atlantic Jubilee Board Member Joseph “Andy” Prentiss Anderson Jr. passed away Sept. 18. He was 72.
Mr. Anderson was born April 27, 1947, in Walterboro, S.C., to Joseph Prentiss Anderson Sr. and Jacquelyn Jernigan Anderson. As longtime owner of Anderson Well Drilling in Hollywood, S.C., Mr. Anderson took an active role in the stewardship of groundwater. He also served the industry, as a board member and past president of the South Carolina Ground Water Association and as a board member of the South Atlantic Jubilee.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Anderson; daughter, Jeanie Petin (Guillaume) of Hollywood, S.C.; son, Joseph P. “Jody” Anderson III (Natalya) of Ravenel, S.C.; two grandchildren, Joseph P. “Seph” Anderson IV and Collin James Robert Anderson; two step-grandchildren, Igor Statsenko and Charlotte Petin; four sisters, Linda Allston (Mike) of Hollywood, S.C., Marvia Corbin (Eddie) of Hollywood, S.C., Jacquelyn Bruchi (Dick) of Gretna, La., and Ginger Anderson of Charleston, S.C.; mother-in-Law, Kathleen Fuller of Hollywood, S.C.; sister-in-law, Kay Grubbs of Hollywood, S.C.; brother-in-law, Jimmy Fuller (Cheryl) of Summerville, S.C.; special cousin, Caroline Jarvis of Simpsonville, S.C.; and numerous nephews and nieces.
His funeral service was held Sept. 21 in Charleston, S.C., followed by interment at Christ-St. Paul’s Parish Churchyard in nearby Yonges Island, S.C. Well-wishers may offer memorials in Mr. Anderson’s name to: St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Cemetery Fund, 5034 Chapel Road, Hollywood, SC, 29449.
