Richard Gotsch, sales representative for Central Mine Equipment for more than 36 years, has recently retired, the company announced.

Prior to arriving at CME, Gotsch worked at Layne Western, John Mathes & Associates, and Testing Inc. in the St. Louis, MO area, gaining valuable experience behind CME rigs for those companies. This hands-on expertise served him well during his many years supporting CME customers.

Gotsch represented CME in the upper Midwest and parts of Canada for many years, culminating in his recent retirement. Prior to that, he spent several years on the road, showing and demonstrating CME rigs throughout the mountain states and further west. Gotsch is responsible for introducing CME to the western market in the early 1980s and was heavily involved with testing and demonstrating the first CME-850 track drill in 1983.

Aside from his designated sales territory, Gotsch also handled CME equipment sales in Australia, Belgium, Ireland, Brazil and other parts of the world. He also served many years on the steering committee for the Shallow Exploration Drillers Clinic, often a presenter, and always an advocate for job site safety.

Gotsch retires as a well-known and respected industry veteran and CME recognized him as an excellent representative of the company, wishing him well in retirement.
