The Deep Foundations Institute has announced that registration will open on February 13 at noon EST for SuperPile ‘18 being held June 27-29 at the New York Marriott Marquis in New York City.

This three-day event highlights the latest developments in augered cast-in-place and drilled displacement piles, drilled shafts, driven piles, ground improvement, helical piles and tiebacks, marine foundations, micropiles, testing and evaluation of foundation systems, and seismic and lateral loads. Best practices for project safety from design through construction as well as topics relevant to the New York City metro region will be presented, including:

  • Innovations and advancements in pile design and installation
  • Working platforms
  • Corrosion of buried structures
  • Designing and constructing for safety
  • Designing for resiliency
  • Instrumentation, load testing, monitoring
  • Extreme or unexpected loading conditions (inclement weather, flooding, seismic)
  • Optimization of pile designs for cost effectiveness
  • Contractual practices

The event kicks off on June 27 with pre-conference committee and working group meetings as well as a networking event hosted by DFI’s Women in Deep Foundations Committee. Day one will feature invited speakers in a plenary session, and day two has concurrent sessions providing attendees the option to choose presentations of interest. Panel discussions on current topics provide attendees opportunities to share new ideas and industry experiences. Equipment, material and instrumentation suppliers, contractors, engineers and other vendors will present their services in the exhibit hall.
