The Deep Foundations Institute has scheduled a seminar on helical piles and tiebacks for Aug. 10-12 at the Ontario Airport Hotel in Ontario, Calif., near Los Angeles.
A meeting of the DFI Helical Piles and Tiebacks Committee on Aug. 10 precedes the technical program. That meeting is open to anyone. Equipment, material and instrumentation suppliers, contractors and other vendors will set up that day, and offer attendees information about their products and services throughout the three-day seminar.
The technical program begins Aug. 11. Presentations will cover helical piles and anchors in seismic and lateral load conditions. Speakers will also cover the basics of design and installation. Other topics covered will include building codes, case studies, advancements and innovations, quality control and inspection, and practical research.
JRW Foundation Systems in Redlands, Calif., will conduct a demonstration of installation and testing of helical piles on the second day of the seminar, Aug. 12.
