The Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) Educational Trust is now accepting online applications for its 2015-2016 At-Large Scholarships. The deadline for applications is May 15, 2015 and award recipients will be announced July 15 or sooner.
“The DFI is proud to provide scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students studying in the fields of geotechnical and foundations engineering,” says Byrl Williams, chair of the DFI Educational Trust. “DFI recognizes that the future of our industry will depend upon our ability to encourage and engage promising young engineers to consider careers in the deep foundations industry.”
The scholarships will be presented to eight students and amounts will range from $2,000 to $5,000. They can be used for tuition, fees, books and/or living expenses. Applications must be enrolled full time in a U.S. college or university, pursuing a degree in an accredited civil, geotechnical engineering or related deep foundations curriculum. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.
The DFI is an international association of contractors, engineers, academics and suppliers in the deep foundations industry with more than 3,300 members worldwide. For more information about the Deep Foundations Institute, visit www.dfi.org.
