Steven Maslansky, PG, CPG, of Maslansky GeoEnvironmental in Prescott, Ariz., has been granted a Life Member Award from the National Ground Water Association (NGWA).

The award recognizes his service in the furtherance of the groundwater industry. It will be presented at the NGWA Groundwater Expo in Las Vegas in December.

Maslansky has focused his work in the groundwater industry on health and safety for drilling contractors, groundwater scientists and engineers working both environmental and water drilling supply sites.

He was one of the first to offer extensive 40-hour hazmat training programs, made specifically for the groundwater industry and in line with federal statutory requirements.

The long-time NGWA member, Maslansky has served on the association’s Safety Subcommittee and Professional Development Committee. He has also helped with the production of NGWA’s safe practice products including the Model Environment Health and Safety (EHS) Manual for the groundwater industry.
