Trimble’s new DPS900 Piling System aims to cut costs and increase efficiency for building foundations, retaining walls, coffer dams and solar or wind farm installations. The land-based 3-D machine control system works with a variety of piling machine models.
“Without DPS900, the process is manual and often error prone,” says Alan Sharp, business area director for Trimble Heavy Civil Construction. “With the DPS900 system, contractors can take advantage of accurate positioning and automated reporting to ensure machines are being utilized efficiently.”
The new system is available through Trimble’s SITECH Technology Dealer Channel.
It cuts surveying costs and increases safety by reducing the number of people around construction sites. Its accurate positioning decreases navigation time between piles, which can increase production.
Built-in, automated quality assurance and quality control reporting are also featured. The reporting includes start and end positions, time and elevation, actual embedment depth, blow count reporting, and inclination and orientation control. Unique system logins filter reports by operator so managers can better evaluate workers.
Piling machines can connect to the office using Business Center – HCE office software. This allows for integration with data preparation and reporting functions. Machines can be tracked and monitored using VisionLink for location, hours and utilization information.
