SPEX Group named Sylvia Halkerston, who has 35 years of human resource management, to the company's board of directors.

The company also appointed Carole Innes to business communications manager and Jacqui Duncan to human resources manager.
Halkerston recently retired as HR director at Macphie of Glenbervie, and currently serves as chairwoman of the Scotland Food & Drink Skills Academy. She's also a member of the Scottish Funding Council Joint Skills Committee and Scottish Qualification Authority Advisory Council. Halkerston has also garnered recognition from the Association of Scottish Businesswomen and was named Director of the Year by the Institute of Directors Scotland.

Innes most recently worked as business development manager at Brewin Dolphin, a financial planning firm. Duncan was in charge of recruitment at Red Spider Technology.
