The National Groundwater Association has announced the dates for the 15th annual National Groundwater Awareness Week.
 
The group says the event, set for March 10-16, give ground water industry professionals an opportunity to educate the public about water access, quality and stewardship.
 
“Every groundwater professional, company, or organization should seize this opportunity to showcase ground water as the enormously important resource that it is,” said Cliff Treyen, NGWA’s public awareness director. “In the process, those who promote groundwater will have an excellent opportunity to showcase their companies.”
 
Treyens directs ground water professionals to the group’s website, where they can find materials to help promote stewardship. Visit www.ngwa.org/awarenessweek to find:
  • Promotional tools for groundwater professionals including a sample letter-to-the-editor and news release, customizable radio spots on the need for water well checkups, a newspaper ad, a flier and poster, one-page consumer information sheets on various water well issues, and three 3-minute educational videos.
  • Get-involved ideas including a guest editorial, National Groundwater Awareness Week logos, and links to additional resources.
NGWA is a nonprofit that supports responsible development, management and use of water resources. It’s comprised of groundwater professionals ranging from contractors to equipment manufacturers to scientists and engineers.
