The Florida Ground Water Association (FGWA) held its annual convention and trade show May 3-5 at the Caribe Royale All Suite Hotel in Orlando. Participants were treated to a wide array of timely and significant continuing education opportunities. Presentations covered topics such as well maintenance, grouting and sealing, pump design, vehicle safety and insurance regulations. On-site demonstrations included direct-push sampling and monitoring well installation. Six hours of exhibit hall time gave attendees plenty of time to check out the industry’s latest offerings. And they know how to have a relaxing good time – social activities included a golf tournament, an evening reception and a silent auction. The golf tournament and silent auction proceeds benefit Operation Helping Hand for military families, and FGWA’s scholarship program, respectively. Looking ahead, the group’s 2013 convention returns to the same venue May 2-4.
