A demonstration on the features and benefits of cable-tool drilling is being presented Aug. 7 by the Illinois Association of Groundwater Professionals. Hosting the event is Prairie State Water Systems in Maple Park, Ill.

Drilling experts Stevie Liberg and Jeffrey Tyrrell will demonstrate and discuss:
  • mechanics of cable-tool machinery;
  • pouring a mandrill;
  • driving casing with a cable tool;
  • screen sizing;
  • setting screen with a cable tool;
  • grouting with a cable tool;
  • well development; and
  • well placement on lot with septic system.
