Danfoss Flomatic Corp. complies with California and Vermont
lead-free legislation that went into effect Jan. 1, 2010 for all valve
products. For Danfoss Flomatic customers, there is no need for new part numbers
or special-order unleaded valves that are compliant because Flomatic is
compliant, and has been for years.
Danfoss Flomatic
Valves introduced the industry’s first unleaded bronze ENVIRO-CHECK in 1996, which have been
recognized as an acceptable material for California Prop 65.
This
new bill has revised the term “lead-free,” “to refer not to the lead content of
pipes and pipe fittings, plumbing fittings and fixtures, but to a weighted
average lead content of the wetted surface area of the pipes, fittings, and
fixtures of not more than 0.25 percent.”
Nick Farrara, Danfoss
Flomatic vice president of sales, states, "We have taken a leadership role
which will ensure continuous improvement in processes that impact on the
environment. This is consistent with our environmental policy and our ISO 9001
and 14001 environmental registrations. I’m convinced that in the future,
unleaded materials with less than 0.25-percent lead will be a requirement in
all markets."
