Boart Longyear Limited has
appointed David Grzelak as a non-executive director of the company, effective Nov. 12, 2008.
Grzelak currently serves as chairman
and CEO of Komatsu America Corp., a position he has held since 1999. Komatsu is
a leading global manufacturer and supplier of construction and mining
equipment. Prior to joining Komatsu in 1991, Grzelak held a number of positions
within General Electric’s Transportation Systems Division over a period of almost
20 years. In addition, he has served as a director of the Alamo Group Inc. since
2006, and currently is a member of the Audit, Compensation and Nominating
committees.
“David brings to our Board a
wealth of senior executive experience in global capital equipment and services
industries. His intimate knowledge of the global mining industry will be of
particular value given Boart Longyear’s strong market position with the leading
global mining groups,” says Graham Bradley, chairman. “We look forward to his
contributions to the company.”
