The Florida Ground Water Association (FGWA) held its 62nd annual convention and
trade show May 8-10 in Orlando, with 500 industry professionals in
attendance. The theme for the event:
“Building a Better Business.” The FGWA has been the most effective trade
association that helps protect Florida’s most valuable resource – ground water
– and promotes its education, proper construction and installation methods, and
has been in existence since 1935.
Ample exhibit hall hours boasted the latest in industry wares, and an
impressive slate of educational seminars were presented. Among the topics
covered: well development techniques, water pressure issues, geothermal
designs, regulatory matters, line shaft turbines, business management,
troubleshooting electrical components and new technologies.
During the convention, the association’s board of directors voted to make a
significant donation to Operation Helping Hand, which assist the families of
disabled veterans during their treatment at the V.A. hospital in
Tampa.
Mark your calendars: Next year’s FGWA convention takes place May 7-9, 2009,
again in Orlando.
