Multilevel Piezometer
The new Geokon Model 4500 MLP Multilevel Piezometer is used for the measurement of ground water pressures at multiple levels in a single borehole. Its design allows piezometers to be placed quickly and eliminates the need for sand lenses and tamping. Installation begins with the lowest piezometer that's positioned at the desired elevation. A spring loading mechanism is then actuated that forces the filter and mounting bracket against the wall of the borehole to hold the piezometer in place. Additional piezometers are added at the required elevations, and then the borehole is filled with a bentonite cement slurry from bottom to top using a tremie pipe. Geokon Inc.
