DeepRock Manufacturing Co.'s new lightweight (only 800 pounds) positive displacement (piston) mud pump is hydraulically operated and requires no gear reducer, hydraulic motor, clutches, etc. It also has no gears, pinions or rods to wear out, and its material chambers are eight-thousandths thick chrome-plated. Other features include pistons that are rubber-like synthetic materials for long life, steel valves with case hardened steel seats, and up to 45 gpm of hydraulic oil at 2500 psi will result in up to 260 gpm of mudflow at up to 400 psi.
